Biosphere and ClimateTrade Join Forces to Drive Corporate Sustainability

Biosphere

Biosphere and ClimateTrade forge a strategic alliance to promote and facilitate the adoption of sustainable practices in organizations globally.

November 2023 – In an exciting advancement for sustainability, Biosphere, the international sustainability management and recognition system based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets of the Responsible Tourism Institute (ITR), joins forces with ClimateTrade, a leader in technological solutions for corporate decarbonization, known for its innovative Carbon Footprint Calculator and the world’s largest climate marketplace. Both companies have decided to collaborate to promote the implementation of more responsible practices.

With their extensive experience, both institutions find common ground and strive to assist organizations in improving their sustainability strategies: On the one hand, Biosphere is the world’s only system to integrate and connect the sustainable efforts of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), businesses, and consumers, based on the 17 SDGs and 169 targets of the United Nations. Meanwhile, ClimateTrade offers its accessible carbon footprint calculator and a wide variety of climate mitigation projects on its marketplace, essential tools for measuring and directly addressing CO2 emissions.

Thus, this collaboration achieves greater ease and accessibility for entities willing to develop a more responsible and holistic business model. Organizations can easily measure and offset their carbon footprint through ClimateTrade solutions, and as part of their continuous improvement process and alignment with SDG 13, they can monitor and recognize their contribution in real-time with Biosphere through its international certification.

“We know that sustainability is an essential path in the current landscape. With this collaboration, we aspire to drive significant and positive change, providing companies with new ways to contribute to the achievement of these goals and targets,” comments Patricio Azcárate, Secretary-General of the Responsible Tourism Institute.

This alliance between Biosphere and ClimateTrade marks a substantial step toward a more sustainable future and aims to make a significant impact on the global business sphere, as both platforms are available in various languages.

Fran Benedito, CEO and Co-founder of ClimateTrade, adds: “We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with Biosphere, a pioneer in sustainability management. This partnership represents a significant milestone in our commitment to providing accessible and effective solutions for companies worldwide. Together, we seek to empower businesses to measure, mitigate, and improve their sustainability efforts, building a global community dedicated to environmental responsibility.”

The goal is for companies to gain all the essential tools and knowledge to implement sustainable actions. These initiatives, joined by an increasing number of companies, not only bring benefits to the entities themselves but also transform communities and pave the way for a more conscious future.
