## Carbon credit marketplace

The ClimateTrade marketplace at market.climatetrade.com lists climate projects from developers around the world. Buyers can filter projects and purchase credits online; each purchase is retired and documented with a certificate. Every project page shows the description, country, project type, mechanism (avoided emissions or removals), standard and registry with a link to the public registry record where available, validation and verification documents, SDGs and the vintages on offer. Volume discounts apply to larger orders.

Standards and registries represented on the marketplace include Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, the CDM registry, American Carbon Registry (ACR), Climate Action Reserve, Global Carbon Council, Isometric, Puro.earth, EcoRegistry, BioCarbon Registry, International Carbon Registry, City Forest Credits, Pina.Earth, ONCRA and Spain's MITECO carbon footprint and absorption registry. ## CORSIA First Phase (2024-2026)

CORSIA is the ICAO Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation. In the First Phase (2024-2026), aircraft operators must cancel CORSIA eligible emissions units from ICAO-approved programmes to cover their offsetting requirements. ClimateTrade sources First Phase eligible units for airlines and other buyers and can match requests by programme, vintage and volume. ## Carbon removals

Carbon removal credits represent CO2 taken out of the atmosphere and stored, as opposed to avoidance credits, which represent emissions prevented. The marketplace includes nature-based removals (reforestation, improved forest management, soil carbon and blue carbon) and engineered or hybrid removals (biochar, bio-oil sequestration, enhanced rock weathering). ClimateTrade can build portfolios that combine removals and avoidance.

## Spanish projects and MITECO registry

Spain's Royal Decree 214/2025 created the national carbon footprint, offsetting and CO2 absorption project registry and requires many companies to calculate their footprint and publish reduction plans. Offsets recorded in the MITECO registry must use projects registered or recognised by the Ministry, such as Spanish CO2 absorption projects. The ClimateTrade marketplace lists Spanish MITECO-registered forest projects.

## Energy for companies

ClimateTrade Energy offers companies in Spain electricity and natural gas at a fixed price locked in for several years, and manages Energy Savings Certificates (CAE), through which companies can recover up to 30 percent of eligible energy efficiency investments made since 2023. The two services can be contracted separately or together with a single point of contact. ClimateTrade also supplies renewable energy attribute certificates (I-RECs).
