Climate is a space where many actors are involved: There are people that are helping drive awareness and knowledge on the topic, companies that offer services to better understand the footprint every company has and how to reduce it, and many other use cases related to climate.
ClimateTrade is the marketplace where anyone can come to generate positive impact, choosing between the biggest variety of projects that generate such a positive impact, allowing our customers to choose the best way to act.
Our affiliate program gives anyone the opportunity to collaborate on promoting and driving action, maximizing the positive impact we can reach, and at the same time obtaining a return that rewards the effort and feeds future impact.
We believe that anyone can contribute to promoting positive impact, so there are no special requirements to become an affiliate, anyone can be so, you just need to comply with the T&Cs. In a nutshell you can become an affiliate if:
Becoming an affiliate is very easy.
On the Affiliate Center section you can see your referral code. You can add this code in links that go to our platform in a “referral_code” query param, so we can track that those users are coming from you.
In the Affiliate Center you have some examples of how it could be some links, whether they link to some of our static or landing pages, our marketplace results page or to the details page of a specific project.
Our recommendation is that you link to the most relevant page for your user according to the context. If you are speaking about a specific project it might make sense to link to the project details page, but if you are speaking about our prime calculator service it would make sense to link directly to our prime calculator landing page.
For every user that is coming to our website we check if it’s coming with a referral code. In the affirmative case we store that referral code in a cookie for seven days, so any further visit of that user (even if not using the referral link) will be considered as a referred user.
In case there is conflict, for example If there is a referred user (with a referral code stored) that is using a link from another affiliate with another referral code the last one will prevail, following the last paid click policy, which is standard on online attribution.
Every purchase and lead generated are stored with the referral code that the user had at the moment of purchase or lead generation, to correctly attribute that sale to our affiliate.
When a referral buys in ClimateTrade we are automatically loading the referral fee corresponding to that sale into the affiliate’s account balance.
You can check your balance in My ClimateTrade – Summary section
In My ClimateTrade – Summary section you can see the amount of your balance. This balance can be used to make purchases yourself and contribute to climate directly as well or you might want to withdraw it and request to transfer the funds to your bank account.
Clicking on withdraw a popup will appear where we ask the amount that you would like to withdraw and the method, right now we have 2 methods available, bank transfer or paypal.
Once you select the method we will ask you for some data in order to fulfill your request, like to provide us bank account information to execute the transfer.
In both cases we will ask you to upload an invoice for the amount withdrawn as it is required. It doesn’t have to be an invoice for each purchase, just a generic invoice for referral fee, affiliate fee or marketing or promotional services would suffice.
Yes, you’ll have access to all the purchases of your referrals, both through My ClimateTrade for manual checks and also automatically using our APIs.
We understand this is a very interesting feature because many affiliates provide services that analyze customer footprint, give information for ESG reporting, etc… where adding information about climate impact generated by those companies can complement and enrich the services they are offering, creating a virtuous feedback loop.
